CPU, that graphics card is decent enough

Out of those 2 options, 4670k.  Definitely.  Your GPU is plenty powerful for now, and you won't see a big performance boost going to the R9 290, because your cpu is a little older now.  The 4670k is better than the 8120 all around, even though its only quad-core, and can get even better by overclocking it. if you can afford it, pick up a cheap aftermarket heatsink like the Hyper 212 Evo so you can do a little overclocking. Intel makes some solid chips, and you cant go wrong with the 4670k. 

 

If you're willing to wait a couple weeks, you could hold out for the 4690k.  100mhz higher out of the box, better TIM on the heat spreader, and the exact same price.

you will see more gains when you swap over to Intel platform

 

FX is dead

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
