Yes, that cooler will work fine. Watch out for clearance issues with RAMs that have tall heat spreaders. (The Hyper 212 EVO is one of the best air coolers in spite of it's relatively low price.)

For a "little bit" of overclocking you could also consider the new Hyper T4 or even a Hyper TX3, which are smaller and cost less.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

Yes. That's the standard for low-cost performance cooler.

You can also go with this for a more silent one but it costs about $13 more. Both perform nearly the same.

Yes. That cooler will be fine for little overclocking. The ram that you are going to buy has to be under 37mm if you plan on putting a fan on the ram side.

It's a very good cooler given it's value. If you can find it, there's its sibling the 212 Plus which is near identical performance (reportedly within a degree) and it costs about $10 less.

Bit off topic but I wonder how the 212 Evo stacks up against the new 212X.

Yeah, it's a good cooler for the price you pay, I see so many people buying that cooler.

Can't find any reviews for it, should run cooler though as the fin stack seems beefier to me.

so much money wasted on the mainboard. the cpu cooler is ok but nothing special.

i would go with

http://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-Macho-Support-Socket-Driver/dp/B009MS326U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1368577864&sr=8-4&keywords=thermalright

Ram is to high, i would buy the low profile version. I would just buy a normalfull featured board

Ram: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cml8gx3m2a1600c9

Board: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga990fxaud3

Than i would buy a 7950 instead of a 7970. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr795wf33gd

the rest of the money would make a nice ssd! :D

im gunna stay with the 7970, switched my ram to the one you suggested, how good is the board you suggest? and how much the does board actually do for performance?

from really cheap to ~140$ there is a difference in overclocks. but everthing at 200$+ may make a difference if you plan to watercool or more(and even than we are talking 100Mhz more or less)...there is really no upside whats so ever to buy such a expensive board if you don't use the extreme overbuild power delivery on it

And if you don't want to overclock there isn't any difference between a 60$ board and a 250$ board

I cant find it on the parts list? any help

and i think im going with the gigabyte 990 fxa ud3

If you don't plan on going SLI/Crossfire, I would go with the Asus M5A97 R2.0. This is able to run a single GPU at 16x.
