HELP!! IS MY GPU DYING?? :(

Go to solution Solved by Goliath_1911,

Turns out it was because of multiple factors:
- I was using a DP 1.4 cable
-Cable visibly looked like new, but after moving probably got bent or damaged a bit
- i was running 1440p @ 240hz @ 10bpc color fine for a while

So i guess the cable was at the edge of what it could handle.... it getting slightly damaged introduced the random millisecond artifacts along with the black screen ( signal loss)

Bought both a DP 1.4a and a hdmi 2.1a everything ran fine now.... except the occasional flicker..... after a bit i remembered i was running 10bpc.... lowered it back to 8 and ever since i was issue free.

For everyone with this freak issue that scared u ....... Just try a new DP or HDMI cable rated for ur needs...... sometimes the cable will look completely fine..... when it is the issue

setup: 13600kf

Gigabyte z690 gaming x ddr4

32 gigs ddr4 @ 3600 mhz

2 x 2tb kingston fury( i think) nvme

Msi 4070 ti super

I bought this gpu about the same time last year, brand new

My temps are good, 62c on gpu, 64c on vram

Same for cpu.... Cooling wise it has always been good, and i clean my oc every 6 month

Recently i started getting a bit of checkerboard artifacts....not on the entire screen, it would be like box of checkerboard in spot of the screen for a frame or 2....

1st time it happened i ignored.... Later on another day it happened for a frame or 2 for 20 secs... While exiting the game i lost image for a couple of seconds.... Screen went black....

Restarting the game resulted in the same artifacts for a bit.....

The game was "The last caretaker".... Which i have been playing fine for a week....

Forza horizon 5 had no issues....

I decided to updated nvidia drivers to the latest.... And checked the clean install option..... Game ran fine for now.... Till i went back into dune awakening.... 5 mins in the dame artifacts happened, for the first timd in dune awakening..... That is when i did a DDU and reinstalled the driver.... Game ran fine after that.... Though it did have that random 1 milisec black screen... But just that one time

Also i did a stress test on furmark for 20 mins, it was fine..... Forza horizon 5 it's fine...... Will test other games later on.

At this point i don't know if it's a software issue or hardware.... I have a year or 2 on warranty and if it's hardware i wanna rma it asap

Worth noting both these games run UE 5 AND am running them maxed settings with dlaa and ray tracing.... @ 1440 p

Some help would be much appreciated

Edit :nothing is overclocked

😞

Doesn't sound good!

What happens if you turn off DLAA and run the game at native without any AI upscaling.

I will need to try that

Both games that had the issue are UE 5 using dlaa and ray tracing

Tho it's native resolution, no dlss just dlaa

Forza horizon 5 also uses dlaa but has not issues as of yet
