I've been using an SSH from my Macbook to my Windows desktop mainly to issue shutdown commands remotely for when I'm done streaming games and movies to Mac, I've been trying also use the start command so if I forgot to open something on my desktop I can just start it remotely, however when I use the start command in the SSH terminal it just permanently hangs and I have to restart the whole terminal so I can use it again, been looking online but can't seem to find anyone else having this issue, anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Edit: found out I don't need the .exe, when I stop adding that to the name it does not permanently hang, however the program just doesn't start, tried on command prompt locally on my windows machine and the programs start up perfectly fine when using the start command.

I believe what you are looking for is

start "" program.exe

Still get the same result, when I use the start command on my desktop with the command prompt locally it works perfectly fine, I thought it would work the same since I'm basically using a remote command prompt just from my Mac.
