Ive been using my pc for about a year now and and have not had many isseus. Three days ago when turning on shaders in minecraft my pc restarted itself. I believe after using stress test soft ware that its an issue with my power supply (corsair cx550 atx 650W) is it possible that the psu is failing?

I realy do not know where to find second opinions on this so thats why im here any help would be awesome

Do you know the rest of your system?

Do you have the corsair CX550 or CX650?

Did the PC crash/restart when you ran a stress test as well?

Do you know the rest of your system?  A CX550 PSU is enough for a 3060 and a moderate CPU.

Obviously, it could be a failing PSU at this point.

Does it always happen when you run the stresstest?

A 550w PSU should be enough for the system though.

Today was the first time i stress tested my pc it only happens when i start graphicly heavy games (skate. Fc26 minecraft with shaders) and not with lighter games (sonic mania openttd and minecraft without shaders)

In case it was the psu not being powerful enough (which shouldn't be the case)

You could try undervolting, same perf from less power and it's easy.

(I have a 3070 with a 550W psu)

I succesfilly undervolted it and it runs quieter when idleing and browsing internet but it still crashes when playing minecraft

Is the psu maybe not the problem? It feels like ive found 100 solutions that dont end up workin =(

you could try the good old

open cmd as administrator and run both;

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (le processus peut se bloquer temporairement pour télécharger un fichier)

sfc /scannow

If that doesn't help you could check your Ram with a Memtest86 or Testmem5

And finally it'd be interesting to clean reinstall Windows

Have ran both sfc and dism both came op with 0 errors also tried memtest86 and that also came up with 0 errors does this mean that it is a problem with powersupply? Could loose fitting cables also cause this?

I doubt it, but I guess it's not impossible.

To me a psu would fail or not fail, not half fail and there might be a symptom, spark, fumes or odour.

And your psu is decent.

You could reseat and replug carefully the bare minimum (also on psu side)

If you can, do it outside the case on plain cardboard.

I believe chances are better than with replacing the psu, but still not guaranteed.

What do you mean with resetting ?

Like re installing windows via a usb thats the way installed it the first time

So you already tried reinstalling windows ?

What's your gpu, couldn't it be the gpu ?

How are the temps under load ? cpu, gpu, hotspot, vram (with HWiNFO64)

Try resetting the GPU drivers

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600g w/ Radeon Graphics | 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM | 256GB NVME SSD + 2TB HDD | Amazon Basics 2.0 Speakers
