A cup of water spilled on the power strip’s cable while the strip was turned off, and it also spilled on the ethernet cable that’s connected between my PC and the router. Is there any problem that could affect my computer since both the power strip cable and the ethernet cable are connected to it?

Yes and No.

Best to just unplug, dry [thoroughly] and then test to see if there is damage.

"Yes" refering to a PC nd hardware harm?

Yes. Water is in most cases a conductor, so yes there is the possibility of damage.

Then there is pretty much no chance of damage.

Sans Is being overly cautious. if there is damage they dont want you coming back saying that we misinformed you.

So I thought of showing pics as it would the situation easier.. Well, the water got spilled on this blaxk cable which is the strip cable but it was plugged in when the water got spilled on it then I did unplug it immediately right after to wipe it also the power was off tho so there is no power as the strip was switched off..

This the other cable is the ethernet cable and  a bug splash of water got spilled on it but got it whiped not to mention that it's connected to the PC

Last pic is the pic of the outlet ans there was some.splash of water around it but got it wiped too..

water isnt a problem, as long as the presence of water isnt combined with the presence of electricity.

just make sure it's dry before you use it again.

depends on how wet it got, how much potential for actual water ingress there is, how easily said ingressed water will evaporate, and how quickly you absolutely need it.

but realisticly, if you leave it overnight there's nothing to worry about.

as long as water didn't actually enter the plug holes and only got on the outer insulation, your fine. That's what it's there for.

You could run the black power cord under water if you wanted, as long as no metal/electronics get wet, it's good.

Pond pumps use essentially the same type of power cord going into an epoxy sealed pump housing.

If the water on your power and ethernet cable was also in contact with a non-grounded lightning rod and your computer was set on a ground rod and you left it there in a lightning storm, then yes there could be a problem. Otherwise, I calculate the odds of the water on your power and ethernet cable causing any damage your computer to be 1 in 14.327113 with a 7.384% margin for error.

When you test the power strip, make sure everything is unplugged and use  a desk lamp in to test it. Light bulbs are cheap a computer or monitor is a little more expensive to replace if there is a problem.

Yes, it is paranoid, but they are out to get you.🤔

Just water, it's fine.

However the cables coming from below the wall plate aren't, that's a handyman hack job if I've seen one, jacks exist for a reason, you can probably fit 2 ethernet and 2 phone jacks in that box too. But you know what they say: "at least it's not wi-fi".

If the power strip was off, then there was no power BY the mains. If the ethernet cable got wet  but it was not the connector end, then no issue.

If you had an ethernet cable for some reason drowning in water, plugged into that ethernet port, the most likely result is nothing. It would only have been a problem if there was a POE (power over ethernet) device on the other end.

I would probably discard an ethernet cable that got it's connector wet. Otherwise no issue.
