I smoked not so long ago (been trying to quit), I got ash on my fingers, and now my madcatz glide3 has ash embedded in it. I tried washing it out, but damn micro weave makes it too hard to wash out.

So I've been looking at mouse mats that I can wipe clean. The best I've seen so far is the Corsair MM600, but I'm not sure how my mouse would be on it as I've read sensor not responding very well, but most reviews are great. I use a razer naga molten so I would prefer a surface "optimised" for optical sensors which I'm guessing when they say optimised they just mean, "yeah we tested, it works".

Anyone know any good mouse mats that I can easily wipe that are also high quality? Small size is good and I have a red theme going, so I would like it if it had a bit of red on it ^^

Steelseries QCK

Or stop smoking.

Yeah I've been doing good, had a bit of a smoking lapse over the last week, but not really smoked heavily in about 2-3 month now.

That QCK is made of cloth same as my madcatz, but i do like the plastic 9HD by steelseries that I just found on their website, will take that into consideration.

Oops sorry, I meant the 9H.

I dunno about the wrist rest. I could probably get use to it, but I usually game with my wrist dangling off the table and the mouse in the bottom left corner.

so don't use it then, rotate the bottom pad 180 degrees so the wrist wrest is on top lol

I just pulled my SteelSeries QcK+ from the washing machine. It's the second time I've washed it. Now for a second time entry in the dryer (at lowest heat, barely lukewarm)  ^_^

No degradation of the pad in any way so far. I remember it being specifically washing machine compatible but I can't find the facts supporting my claim at this point.

You might also want to consider hybrid pads such as CM Storm Power-RX or Zowie P-TF speed. They are about as easily cleanable as hard pads with simple swipe of a wet cloth but still offers some of that "softness" of a cloth pad (for comfort or folding for easy carrying) plus not too slippery offering a bit more control.

I like those, the cm storm is a big big, but I see the zowie in smaller size. Both god red which is nice ^

I might try it, I do like my madcatz glide3, awesome illumination when I just start the PC with my lights off and my red password screen comes up, the orange claws on the mat go fluorescent and look cool.

The Razer Vespula, it's metal and double sided. Each side has a different surface material. One for speed and one for accuracy. I have it's predecessor, the Razer eXactMat. I've been using it for about 6 years and it's great.

It's got filthy green bits, can I take them off?

Technically you can remove just about anything, but it would ruin the mat since those green bits are the rubber feet that help hold it in place. It sits on a large rubber mat, but that mat is smaller than the metal mat that your mouse sits on. With out those rubber feet, the edge of the metal mat would not be making contact with anything and it would be off balance.
