Hey, for the past year or so I've been expiriencing random crashes whenever playing Fornite (only that, play tons of other games but literally no issues anywhere else). After some time playing, screen freezes and pc crashes + starts up again. However, after 3 failed boot attempts (with windows loading animation lagging pretty hard) boots into recovery. Rebooting after that results in the same. The only way out of this state I've found is re-seating the CMOS battery.

I've had a feeling it might be the ram, indeed found a faulty stick and replaced the whole kit. No changes. Upgraded from a 3060 to a 5070, no changes. I've tried to somehow isolate the issues but found no luck.

The event viewer throws some info but it sounds extremely generic, here is the last log (crash happened around 21:53). I've attached the relevant event files.

Ideas :

A memtest86 or testmem5 run would make sense, to check the ram,

You could try the good old

open cmd as administrator and run both;

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (le processus peut se bloquer temporairement pour télécharger un fichier)

sfc /scannow

You could deinstall reinstall NVidia drivers (DDU ?)

You could reinstall windows

If you don't quote us, we won't know you answered

Thanks,
Ran memtest86, 4 runs ... pass
dism fails, will have to investigate

Check the internet connectivity or use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the image. For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.

sfc passes with no issues.
