I'm not sure if this is the right topic, but I'll post it anyway.

I recently moved into a private house, and as far as I know, the voltage here isn't very stable.

Could someone please recommend a UPS and a power strip for this setup: Ryzen 5 9600X, 32GB DDR5-6000, RTX 5070 12GB, 750W Be quiet Pure Power 13M, and a 27-inch Asus Strix IPS monitor?

I have never worked with UPS before. I was advised to use APC, but according to the "reviews" in shops, their quality is not very good. Does anyone here own something similar?

P.S. It's important for me to be able to quickly shut down (and protect) the computer if necessary, with no more than 3–5 minutes of battery life.

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Ive owned both Cyberpower and APC. My APC unit was purchased in July of 2018, and Ive replace the battery twice, they only last about 3 years for me. The Cyberpower unit bought some time before the APC. I had to have the whole unit replaced under warranty. Eventually that replacement died, I tried to replace the battery in it, but that didnt fix the issue.

So in my experience APC was a better buy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779QFRRT?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2  This is the unit I currently have. I didnt pay $237 for it however. Looks like the price went way up.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Before doing anything, get a professional electrician to check everything before doing anything, the money spent is worth it. The neighbor down the street prevented his house from burning down due to worn and outdated wiring.

I also recommend that this be done before moving in, even if the house is new.

APC is easily one of the best, the reviews are probably by users who bought the absolute cheapest unit and wanted to use it with a PC that draws 4x the amount of power it can deliver, that's 90% of negative reviews.

I'd say 1500VA is bare minimum for a build like yours, otherwise you'll overload it, remember it's not 1200W like any sane person would imagine, that's the one part I've always disliked about how they're marketed, it's confusing on purpose, nobody other than an electrician or engineer uses VA in daily life, look up the manufacturer's website to find out the actual W it provides.

If you cater products to home users use units home users understand, most people know watts even though they don't know what they are. That's my rant.

Don't worry about battery life, most offer no more than 5 minutes without an external battery pack.

The worst part for me is knowing that Volts x Amps = Watts while reading "Volt Amps", thinking "Watts", and finding out that isn't actually what VA is.

That's when our beloved apparent power comes in, that's why I say it's confusing on purpose just for the sake of marketing "a bigger number" because older units were awfully inefficient just like modern no-name ones are, 1000VA but only about 450-490W.

Like audio manufacturers marketing PMPO watts instead of nominal to make equipment seem way better than it really is.
