im on mx linux xfce, when i run an action like extract archive or jsut run featherpad on thunar the window closes. is this a bug or feature? how do i prevent it?

I know it might not be secure, yeah vibecoding is cool but we shouldnt do smt unless we understand it and etc. thx but these disclaimers get old quick. maybe we shall be reminded frequently for we are stupid but i dont work at a nuclear powerplant.

Nothing? Not even a GTK warning?

Found this recent issue regarding context menu crash, maybe it's related. Maintainer mentioned it probably an upstream issue.

I use Thunar but didn't have that issue though.

Just to be sure, you opened Thunar from the terminal, then left the terminal open so you can see any message printed to it?

Alternatively check if there's anything in "~/.xsession-errors" or try "journalctl /usr/bin/thunar"

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply
