Hello I was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade from 3080Ti from gainward to a 5070Ti or even 5080 ?

My friend just asked me if I was going to upgrade my GPU and I have been thinking about it but dont really know if it is worth it or if I should wait for something newer ?
I have always loved to be able to sell my stuff when I upgrade. I live in Iceland where prices are pretty high for example the cheapest 5090 is around 4500 US$ wich would be the card I would want to go to.
But giving how exspensive it is here I dont have the money for that, and the prices for the 5070Ti are around 1350$ to 1500$ and the 5080 like 1500$ to 2000$ so any thought ?

Without knowing your income or disposable cash, I'd get the $1500 5080.  It's only a small price lift from the 5070TI and a $2000 5080 isn't going to be any faster/better.

It's the only card that makes sense out of the list you provided.

Are there games or applications where the 3080 Ti isn't meeting your needs? If you don't have anything that needs the performance or features, I wouldn't upgrade right now.

The 3080 Ti is still highly capable. If you're willing to turn down settings, there's really no game that it can't play. It can even still do 4K alright if you keep your expectations in check.

Your only substantial upgrade would be the 5090, which as you note, is ludicrously expensive. The 5080 is just better, but only 50% faster. So if you're unhappy with, say 30fps in some game, that would only get you up to 45fps. A good improvement, sure, but it wouldn't be worth $1500 to me.

There is no point to getting a 5090 for a $2500 upcharge. That is burning money that could support a family for a few months for a measly, measly amount of performance improvement.

5080 is the choice pick, here. But I don't even think you need to upgrade. Can't imagine you are struggling on anything with a 3080TI yet

I was in a similar situation, recently upgraded my gaming rig from a 3080 10GB to a 5070ti. If you can get a 5080 for only a bit more than the 5070ti, I would say the extra cores are worth it for the 5080. Where I live, 5080s were much more expensive than the 5070ti, and considering they both have the same VRAM capacity, I went with the 5070ti instead.

As others have mentioned, the 3080ti is still a very good GPU. I was running into issues with my 3080 and only having 10GB of VRAM, while your current card has 12. That said if you want an upgrade, it's probably a good time to do it now. GPU prices are increasing and if I had waited to upgrade mine, I would have had to pay $200 USD more for the same card. It's hard to quantify how much $ the added enjoyment of a GPU upgrade would be compared to the actual cost of the upgrade, but I decided to go for it.

I HAVE WAY TOO MANY GPUs I HAVE A PROBLEM HELP

thank you all for you inputs and as of now I am not running into any problems with my GPU and I am gaming on 1440p. I am however getting into 100 in fps in some games when I have the graphics high and all that. I know 100fps is plenty but I heard that I should try to match my fps to the hz of the monitor wich is 240 or is that not a thing ?

No, definitely not a thing.  You should play at whatever fps is comfortable for you.  Being at the monitor maximum doesn't bring any benefit outside just higher FPS.

If you chase a monitor's Hz, you're going to be poor as fuck.  Especially for the 4K 120+ folks 🙂
