i went to format a usb but accidentally formatted a 2tb ssd. i immediately downloaded disk drill after a quick google search. i turned off the computers wifi and turned off trim for the month to let it try to scan it, but is there really any chance of recovery? there was a few important documents i would really like to keep the most current versions of. note this is not the boot ssd, just the large capacity ssd i use to store things on.

Data Recovery is one of those touchy subjects. Nobody can answer for certain if files are recoverable because there are too many variables. Disk Drill, GetDataBack, and TestDisk are all great software tools that might help recover your data, however, the only way you'll know is if you try. If the data is critically important, STOP NOW, UNPLUG THE DRIVE, and contact a professional. Otherwise, see what Disk Drill manages to find after the scan is done.
