Good morning,

IMG_0537.thumb.jpg.27cb2e6f5d472c3d4f4b59eac674b261.jpg

I have a bit of a conundrum. I have spent a little bit of time making the left side of the desktop look (fairly) tidy.

IMG_0538.thumb.jpg.c18abe828cadb67fb6aac4ef2e089879.jpg

However, my right side (behind the motherboard tray) looks well... bad.

Specifically I am thinking I might need to get a larger case to secure my 2.5" SSD's (I have six (6) of them), mostly so they're not floating around in the basement of the PSU cover. Thoughts? Budget isn't really an issue, just would like to secure my drives. Mostly, the case needs to fit an EATX motherboard, 360mm AIO, and an RTX 5090. Thank you.

i would consider buying a couple nvmes and pull out those SSDs honestly...

I have all four M.2 slots filled in my motherboard. I'll take a look at the Corsair 2500X Midi Tower.

the 2500X is a dual chamber MID TOWER case, it costs a bit but it probably fit your needs

I'll call, and then raise you 2 SATA SSDs in a RAID 1 for storing my TrueNAS apps 🙂

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

Honestly it's the right side of the case that no one sees, why does it matter? You can add some  zip ties to clean it up some, and double sided tape the SSDs to the PSU shroud if it really bothers you.

Arctic Cooling ARCTIC Xtender is a cool case also. Should fit six 2.5" SSDs. Very spacious in general. Model being ACPCC00018A

Just took a look at the Artic case, it looks like a good choice. Natively supports 6x 2.5" SSD's and ticks all of the boxes. I am seriously looking at purchasing the case. I might end up replacing all of the preinstalled fans with quieter fans without the RGB, but I'll keep on looking. Thank you for the suggestion.

Mostly I'm concerned with the SSD's not being secured, and would prefer them to be secured to the chassis. Plus, whatever I end up getting I'll be buying brand new SATA cables, since the one's I'm using does not fully lock into place and one decent bump has caused my drive to disconnect which bugs the shit out of me lol.

You're going to bring the data hoarders out of the wood work. I'm sure even my server will look like a lightweight.

Why are they moving around that much? (Your PC shouldn't be moving) Double sided tape, zip ties to hold the cables?

Sounds like perhaps some drive consolidation could also be in order. Perhaps less, but larger drives could help?

how many 3.5" drive bays does the case you own have?

if your not using them, just get bay adapters to fit 2 ssd's in each 3.5" bay.

or maybe something like this;

715rQWHglkL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

would of course work for any size drive.

Offtopic, but TBH the thing I'm most excited about for when the AI bubble pops is that they're gonna have to liquidate those hyperscale data centers which should flood the market with used ultra capacity SSDs. Gonna finally get my all-flash storage server!

I’d have to look, but I believe my case only natively supports 4 2.5” SSD’s in its current configuration.

Check this out on @Newegg:Thermaltake AX700 TG Super Tower; SSI-CEB/SSI-EEB/XL-ATX/E-ATX; 560mm Radiator Support; 360mm-630mm GPU Clearance; Support for up to 18x 3.5 or 2.5"; Supports 2X 5.25; CA-11B-00F1WN-00

I found this, I might go with this one. Huge, and should tick all of my requirements.
