Hey guys,

The 23th I get my money from my work and I need a new headset. I currently have a Razer Elektra with a 5 euro mic laying on my desk.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I often play CS:GO, so many footsteps. FPS are my favorite.

I like a nice bass since I listen to hardstyle.

My budget is around 100 euro. I can stretch it if it is a big difference.

Thanks

Theres no such thing as a good headset

Get a pair of headphones and a modmic 4.0

Uh Sennheiser/ Audio-Technica/ Beyerdynamic all make a very good headset variant of their headphones.

Its up to the individual to make the call that All-In-One is for them since the price reflects the cost of the design.

Its not that they don't exist it that you must spend to get one.

Thanks for the comment, but they are really expensive. I think the Steelseries Siberia V2 Frost blue/heat orange are a good choice. Since pro CS players use them too.

Kingston HyperX is what I would recommend for Europe around that price. There are actually not a lot of good options for headphones at the sub 100 euro range over there. The Kingston headset is 75 pounds on Amazon.uk

Any sennheiser headset will be very nice for games if your willing to spend. or you could buy their headphones and use a separate mic.  HD380 Pro or HD558 will be good.  They have quality bass but its may be weak for EDM and other bass heavy music.

Beyerdynamic DT770s are known to have good bass if you like that.  Also V-moda LP2's are also very bassy since thats mostly what their known for.

I had the Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic headsets. I made the switch to my Sennheiser HD650's. Headset sound has terrible quality, idc who the manufacturer is. Just because its a certain brand does not make it automatically a good product. Yes, some headsets are ALLOOTT better than others...but at the end of the day when all the dust settles, headsets are labeled as gaming, and products labeled as "gaming" are usually very very low end. So I stand by what I said, there really isnt a very good headset out there. Not to mention, you can get a good pair of headphones with a modmic for around the same price as a "gaming" headset for twice the quality. Seems like a stupidly easy decision to me

True. HD650's are not in the same category of most headphones here on the forums use.  average recommendations are usually around $200 and under.

In the case of audio company headsets they are the same sound quality as the headphone designs. Sennheiser's are exact copies of HD380 Pro/HD558.

As far a cost for a headset from an audio company goes that is the company's MSRP of the Headphone design with the cost of adding a mic to the design.

Smart shopping can find you a deal here and there.  My PC 350 SE's only costed $100 new.  cheaper then the dedicated headphone version.

Point is you can't say something as fact. you need to tell him why.  informative decision and all that.

False, Sennheiser downgrades their audio drivers in their headsets, hence why their headsets are much cheaper than their equivalent headphones.

Their headsets aren't cheaper than their equivalent headphones.

Their headphones ARE significantly way better than their headsets

Have you had a chance to compare them side by side? HD 500 series compared to PC 360 and/or G4me One? HD 360 compared to PC 350 and/or G4me Zero?

I own the Sennheiser PC 360's, the HD558's and the HD 650's. And the 558's destroy the PC 360

Completely depends on where you live. In this situation, it is not true at all.

That's good to know, but in what way?

558's has way better mids and highs. Lows were within margin. 558's had a much warmer sound to them than the 360's

Can you clarify in the context of other headphones, or maybe a song or two? Usually when someone says "warmer" it means the upper mids/highs are a bit subdued, but "Better mids and highs" usually means the opposite, with vocals and higher instruments standing out.
