Hi everyone!

I need to buy some new earphones for using (mostly) at work, in an office, and I was hoping that some of you could make me some recommendations. These are my main considerations:

- The main use will be to listen to music, but...

- ... I need a good microphone as I will use them a lot for meetings.

- I spend quite some time on the underground, so some solid noise cancellation is an absolute must.

- Budget is not a problem. I'm happy to spend 250€ if that (almost) guarantees that I will have a very good product that will last for years. Of course, if I can get something good for 80€ I'll be more than happy to take it.

Other quick considerations: I don't run, so I don't need a "perfect fit". I drive an android, but my work phone is an iPhone. I can do with 4h of battery or even less, but I am concerned about long-term battery duration not going down to 1h tops. I don't need wireless charging.

Thanks!!!!

The good ANC capable headphones in your price range just don't have fantastic mics, but they might be good enough for meetings? Youtube mic tests exist so you'll just have to determine if thats suitable.

Something like Sony WH-1000XM5 or XM4 depending on what you can find on sale at your retailers. These two have been replaced by the XM6 which is our of your price range.

Dunno what country you're in so I just picked Germany but it looks like XM5's are available in budget: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/3VKKHx/sony-wh1000xm5b-headset-wh1000xm5b

Sennheiser has the Sennheiser Accentum Plus in your price range but reviews look quite bad in comparison to the Sony's above.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra (first gen looks to be an option but pricing is all over the place)

Really just those three brands are who come to mind in this space for me at least.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately I see that I didn't correctly specify my problem 😅

I am specifically looking for recommendations for ear buds, the ones that go inside your ear.

Used iPods Pro, 2nd or 3rd gen?

yeah, these ones. But have you ever tried the XM4-5s, in a shop or smth? I know that overhead and bulk, bla,bla,bla... The thing is that they are built for prolonged use; when you put them on, you forget they are there. They weight is ballanced by their fit on the head. These are really different from your general headphones.

No, I have any wireless earphone apart from the original Air pods. That's why I'm asking for advice haha
