Has anyone experimented with single vs dual channel RAM (DDR4 or DDR5) for GPU folding? If so, did you find it made a difference? Also, I've read that in general, DDR5 is more forgiving in single channel configurations due to the 2x32bit channels per DIMM, so curious if that plays into the results. Thanks.

RAM speed primarily affects the CPU. As long as you're not CPU bound or running out of VRAM and need to swap to system RAM, single vs dual channel should have very little impact. The only exception would be an iGPU which always uses system RAM as VRAM.

I wouldn't expect folding to be affected by it much (if at all), since it's pretty much exclusively on the GPU (unless you also fold on the CPU). If you have a system already, simply try it out for yourself.

I do it right now on my wifes PC, she doesn't game so shes fine with single slot of DDR4 and a slower PC. Been the same performance though from one PC that's dual slot and hers and they both have B580s.
