Trouble shrinking Windows 11 partition

Hi! I am trying to shrink my main partition on my Windows 11 laptop so that I can dual boot windows and Linux. I have been having trouble shrinking the partition due to unmoveable files even after doing some googling and following all the steps I’ve seen. I have over 1TB free on my disk so I’m looking to see if there’s anything I’m missing.

Here’s the steps I’ve taken so far: Disable fast boot and hibernation, Disable recovery and deleted previous recovery files, Disabled page file and rebooted computer to clear the file.

After all this I am still not able to shrink the partition due to “$Mft::$BITMAP”. Any advice would be appreciated!

It’s a Dell XPS 15: CPU 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H, 32.0 GB RAM, OS build 26200.7171, 2TB SSD

I would recommend just using Minitool Partition Wizard to do that.

Seconded - or boot to linux off USB and use GParted. Both should work

when you're booted into windows, there are some files that cant be moved.. and if those are in the way you cant shrink. solution is to boot into something else (like a linux live usb of some variety with gparted)
