GPU Issue

Go to solution Solved by Lord Pantaloons,

Did you plug in the necessary GPU power connectors?

So I recently found I had been using the onboard graphics for my computer and not my Asus R9 290. I immediately unplugged it from the motherboard and plugged it into my GPU. However I got no signal. I tried installing all the drivers which didn't work, pretty sure I already had them installed. I also tried entering UEFI BIOS do disable onboard graphics but I couldn't. I couldn't do on startup with the F2/Del and I don't have the option to enter it even though I'm on Windows 8.1. I am also on an admin account. So any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I think so. If I didn't my GPU has to red led's and if you didn't plug one of the cables it stays red, but if you do it correctly it goes green. Both of them are green.

Is the display connector fully connected and working properly? do you have another cable you can try it with?

Definitely. And no I only have one HDMI cable.

Download and use "Display Driver Uninstaller" and completely remove the AMD display driver. Shutdown your PC remove the GPU and start it up without it, after you successfully boot into Windows shutdown and reinstall the GPU. Then if it successfully boots with the GPU being used to drive the display download a fresh version of the most recent stable AMD driver and install it.

I'll try that soon. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks.

Hey so it turns out this was the issue. I checked and it turned out they weren't so I fixed them tried again and it didn't work so I just assumed it wasn't the solution. Later while trying other possiblities I restarting my PC. For some reason I wasn't getting a signal on my motherboard so I tried my GPU. It didn't work at first, but that's because it was downloading the drivers that I had never downloaded :P Thanks a lot for the help :)
