I also have 10Gb NIC and ordered a SAS LSI 9500i HBA, ordering SAS drives soon (tm)

 

Running TrueNAS Scale to hold my files, media and stuff. I also work from it with some Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro (very light usage), also running two VM's (one Windows for non-MacOS stuff and FreeBSD for ISO's downloads)

 

Do you think I'm missing something or something I should change?

No need to apologise, language is a diverse lot and ever evolving. Sanskrit, Hieroglyphs and Rune are also not easy to understand 😉

 

You might be able to save a small amount by choosing a Gen 4 or even Gen 3 NVMe, as effective performance for server tasks is pretty much the same. The Gen 5 drive is of course faster, but that's hardly noticeable in your use case.
