Been running some F@H warmup prior to folding month, everything has been pretty smooth sailing, but suddenly today I've had it crash/shut off 3 times.

It is an older HTPC as my main pc isn't set up after a move, Hw is a 6500xt, 4790s, temps are pretty stable gpu high 70's, cpu low 70's. Wondering if there are some tweaks that needs to be done or if it maybe is HW related. It just goes off and has to be powered back on, no bsod or anything. Just seems strange as it has been doing fine for 4-5 days.

I doubt there is anything useful, but have you checked the system logs in event viewer?

Hehe yeah I did now, it is as useful as ever, ''The previous system shutdown at 16:35:02 on ‎27/‎10/‎2025 was unexpected.'' It has no other things happening close to that time in the log, always great to figure that out 😄

My first thought would be that it's something to do with your power supply - do you have a spare you can test out? Maybe a friends?

Memtest86 might be more accessible though - good to try as well

Was thinking that too, but it is a pretty ok unit that is quite over specced, it's a CM 650 or 750 80+ gold thing. Ever since I made this post and restarted, it's been running just fine again, ah I hate inconsistent errors, might also have been a WU that hit the hw different and me using at the same time caused a bug.

Will be back if it keeps happening.

Linux or Windows?  I had multiple multi-gpu systems that were rock solid for years start crashing on me this year on Linux, turns out the new WUs require a lot more RAM and I didn't have enough RAM + Swap (16 GB RAM + 8 GB swap not enough for a 3 card system).  Not sure if the same thing would happen on Windows but verify RAM + pagefile sizing.

Edit: By RAM i mean system RAM, not vRAM on the GPUs.

It's just a windows htps pc, running some old stuff, haven't thought about ram, but it's single gpu.

Had one bug since where it seems like explorer stopped as folders and such was closed and firefox had restarted.
