Microsoft's recent 50% Game Pass price hike has gamers furious, yet their gaming division revenue is at an all-time high. This video explores the baffling contradictions in Xbox's strategy: raising prices while claiming profitability, promising new Xbox hardware while pivoting to mobile. We delve into the decline of Xbox consoles, the impact of studio closures, and the shift towards services. Is Microsoft abandoning dedicated hardware for a Windows-centric, multi-platform future? Despite the self-inflicted wounds, Xbox is making more money than ever. We discuss the "enshittification" of Game Pass, the value proposition for gamers, and the hope for a future focused on great games, not just quarterly growth. What's on the (Forza) horizon, and see if Xbox can rise like a (Marcus) Phoenix from the ashes of this blunder.

This doesn't seem to be on floatplane yet?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

It's pretty hilarious that the graph at 10:55 made it into the uploaded video.

These numbers are revenue, not profits.

An accompanying slide presented during Nishino’s talk highlighted revenue comparisons across PlayStation’s history. According to the chart, the PS5 has generated 136 billion dollars in sales, surpassing every prior generation. The PlayStation 4 followed with 107 billion, while the PS3 accounted for 71 billion, the PS2 reached 44 billion, and the original PlayStation delivered 24 billion over its lifecycle.

Based on Sony's business presentations the profit for the PS5 generation hovers around $13 billion, not $136 billion. $136 billion is the total revenue generated.

and from that its brand ip merch is lump into ps5 total profits.

they did a ground up re build of all sony profits, companies etc.

it goes all to now sony group companies holdings .

hell anything anime related and ip rights go to sony music of japan shell corp

So is the Error Checking Squad still around? Just saying out loud that Sony made 135 Billion $ from the PS5 is just so absurd that the alarms should be going off

They posted a correction in the youtube comments 17 hours ago, pretty sure the error checking squad is still a thing, things get missed, it happens
