Budget (including currency): 3000 EUR (not including 20% taxes, written off on company)

Country: Belgium

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Games for coming years, programming (AI/ML related), Virtual Machines, CAD, MatLab, ...

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi, my first post on here was regarding this same build. Most of the choices are made now component wise, but I would love some more feedback from everyone else here on the whole list so including peripherals.

As I've never spent this much on a computer, it's hard to pull the trigger. The idea is that this build should last me for a long time (7-8+ years) and be used for work in a year.

Here is the part list on a website called "Megekko", I have to purchase everything in one place (company related stuff, easier to write off). To see the total price simply click "in winkelwagen", to place whole list in shopping cart. Sorry for not using PCPartPicker, but this list includes more items than only PC components (e.g. items to repair laptop).

My main concern as of now are the case and peripherals. (but if you see other concerns, please tell me)

Case: Seemingly the front fans cause turbulance in the case, which in turn makes an annoying noise. I have no issues replacing these fans, but it's not sure the problem will be solved as the turbulance remains. (quiet is important for me)

Peripherals: I known absolutely nothing about keyboards/mouses/headsets/... I've been on a Razer laptop for 6 years, and want a similar keyboard vibe, that's why I went with a low profile keyboard like in the list but again I know nothing about this.

As of now the price is 2900 EUR excluding taxes, leaving me some money to decorate my desk which is always an upside.

Main machine:  Ryzen 9 9950x3D - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070ti OC 16GB  - Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 - 64GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 - Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX3.1 - Lancool 207 digital - Artic liquid freezer III Pro - 2 x 27" AOC Q27G4X - WD SN850X 2TB - 2 x WD SN770 2TB

Remote client:  Razer Blade 15 (2020) base - i7 10750H - GeForce RTX 2060 - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz (only used for decoding streams from main machine)

This is a decent list.

You dont need extra Thermal Paste, the AIO comes with paste.

In terms of peripherals, I have a Logitech Pro X2, G502 mouse and a G915 Tactile keyboard and I enjoy them all.  I am currently not using the Logitech headset though.

I would recommend investing in an electric duster down the line so you dont have to buy compressed air to clean your PC.

A 1000w PSU is very overkill for this build, a 850w would do the trick.  You could in theory run this system on a solid 650w.

You need two mouse pads?

The AOC GAMING Q27G4X comes with an HDMI cable and DisplayPort cable in the box.

I think you are underspending a bit on the monitor for such a build.

Good point, but I needed some for the laptop so I thought “let’s buy a bigger tube and give AIO higher quality paste”.

I think you might be referring to thermal pads 😅, also needed for laptop repair. I have a mousepad in there, large enough to also place keyboard on it. I also chose a mouse pad with wrist rest, to further copy how laptop keyboard would feel.

Awesome! Might look at the keyboard and see if it’s better, thanks.

As for the PSU I know, but it’s just for my peace of mind that it’ll have low load for many years and hopefully last longer and be quieter.

The 3m cables are because my computer will be far, and turned on 24/7 (thus also why I wanted an overkill PSU running far from maximum capacity).

But you really think I’m underspending? What would you have recommended? I do want two of the same displays and maximum of 27 inches. Because as long as it is 140+Hz, decent image quality I’m fine with it. Not doing any video editing, so as long as it can game and be nice to watch a movie on I’m happy.

Main machine:  Ryzen 9 9950x3D - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070ti OC 16GB  - Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 - 64GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 - Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX3.1 - Lancool 207 digital - Artic liquid freezer III Pro - 2 x 27" AOC Q27G4X - WD SN850X 2TB - 2 x WD SN770 2TB

Fair! Its always nice to have some paste around.

I was indeed, I was mistaken.  That website makes everything look incredibly large lol.  Even the zipties looked like old SATA cables.

I like it a lot.  Decent feel, incredibly long battery life.

Sure.  If you want quiet I would recommend the RM850x over the RM1000e.

The RMe uses a slightly worse quality fan and its also a little bit smaller than in the RMx model.  There were some complaints on the RMe 2020-2024 models due to the fan being a bit loud under load.  It also only has 7 year warranty compared to the RMx 10 year.

I have 2x RM750x and 1x RM1000x and I have never heard the fan.

It all depends on the budget.  The Q27G4X is not a terrible monitor and it will do the trick 🙂

I am very picky with monitors so it might just be a me problem.

I did have a close look at it, and I also love it! But with it being more than 2x as expensive, using the same switches and being 4 years older, I think it's best to stay with mine as having a wireless keyboard is not needed. But they are overall very similar (on picture and in description, real feel might differ).

I'm not picky, but am used to the decent quality of a Razer Blade 15 (2020) base model screen. (Full HD, 100% sRGB, 144Hz). Budget is around maximum 250€ per screen, so in that price range I fear nothing really stands out besides what I found.

Alright thanks! I'll be sure to look at this unit on the website then, and double check dimensions as it is important for this case I'm working with. Thank you a lot, usefull recommendation.

Sure!  Peripherals is always something that can be upgraded later down the line of you feel like it when there is a Black Friday sale or something 🙂

Its not the crucial part of a build in my opinion.

They are identical in size.

RM1000e 2025 and RM850x are same size.

Alrighty thanks for everything! The downgrade in PSU will make it so I can afford a lavalamp or something on my desk 😅, that's my next step now looking for fun things like that.

Haha, there you go!

I wouldn't even call it a downgrade.  The RMx is higher quality overall! Yes the wattage is 150w lower but you dont even need 850w to begin with.

I personally run a overclocked 9800X3D and overclocked RTX 4080 and I see around 440-500w full system power draw during heavy gaming / heavy load.

I will be around if you need any more help or have questions. Just tag me here or send me a DM.

After carefully going over it again, I might go with the RM1000e PSU. As the 2025 revision I will buy has platinum efficiency as compared to gold efficiency for RM850x/RM1000x variants and the price for the RM1000e is lower than the RM850x.

If it were the same efficiency (gold) I would of went with the RM850x, as this has a better fan and internal components. But now its hard to justify not going for a more powerful/better rated unit, if the price is equal. (RM850x VS RM1000e)

Main machine:  Ryzen 9 9950x3D - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070ti OC 16GB  - Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 - 64GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 - Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX3.1 - Lancool 207 digital - Artic liquid freezer III Pro - 2 x 27" AOC Q27G4X - WD SN850X 2TB - 2 x WD SN770 2TB

I would still go with the RMx as it has better components overall.

Rmember that the +80 rating is ONLY a rating of efficiency and has nothing to do with quality. That beind said, most +80 gold PSU's are good.

The difference between Gold and Platinum in terms of money saved on your electricity bill is incredibly low.  Maybe 80 cents every 2-3 months if you use your system for multiple hours daily.

850w is plenty for this setup dude 🙂

I also see that on Megekko.nl that the RM1000e only has 36 months warranty while the RM850x has 120 months warranty.

What about this?  Maybe 40 bucks is worth the extra wattage if you are a bit worried about it?

40 bucks over 10 years ain't really that much.

Currently PCPartPicker has an estimated wattage of 700W rounded up. So with the 20% rule I have just about enough with the 850w PSU, keeping in mind I don't plan to upgrade in the future (at all) it should be enough after all.

It most definitely will be enough 🙂

The wattage estimation is when your components are drawing max power, this rarely happens even with the workload you are doing.

You'll be fine .
