No mangled package gore, yet, anyway.

I ordered a small item, and it shipped. It left California, went straight up to were I'm at, went to 'Out for Delivery!' status, and then... Nothing.

Finally, 5 days later, it updated. It was in Delaware. And now it's in Pennsylvania.

I'm glad it got to go for a joy ride, I've just... Never had this experience before lol

And yes, it was an ebay order.

Usually for me it's USPS that does that to me.

You can call the shipper, sometimes they will look into it for you.

If it's a large eBay seller, and you contact them, telling them you haven't received it, many times they will see that realize it's likely lost, and just ship you a new one.  (Depending on what it is)

Well, it is showing that it's enroute to me now, so it's not really lost yet. I am keeping this in mind, I'll consider it later.

It was just a pocket knife, but it was also the "last one", if that can even possibly be true. Sadly, I bought it for the hardware, not the blade so much, so a replacement would be... Meh.

At the job we ship out a few hundred boxes a day via UPS. They do loose a few. We get orders all the time for lost and delay packages.

We have seen it before, where the shipping label for another package does not adhere to the box correctly and the corner folds up and the label is then transferred to another box. When that happens, things dont go correctly after that.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

This is why I usually tape over the shipping label with packing tape. I understand that a bit operation can't spare that kind of time and expense, but it's what I do, at least

Yeah it can show enroute to you "forever" in some instances. If it's still like that in a week, I'd reach out to the seller.

Well, yeah. If I don't see any updates for driver stops by then, yeah, I'll contact the seller

Just a small update: The package is now showing that it's back in the state I live in.

So, I guess it is coming, after all? Meh, whatever.

Delays and damage are more common for me with FedEx than other carriers.

UPS seems the most consistent, and I'd like to think thats since I'm in the same state as their HQ.

It depends where you are.

When I was in highschool, I purchased all of the parts to build a PC, from Newegg. It was something like $2,400 worth of parts.

A flap with my address was all that arrived.

Newegg resent the order, and it was basically destroyed by the time it arrived, so I sent it back. Newegg then resent my order by FedEx and it arrived without a dent on the box.

UPS used to be the second to worst tier shipper for this area. Now, however, USPS is the worst. Very late packages, no functional tracking (I had a $700 item literally never update the tracking until AFTER it arrived). FedEx and UPS are generally acceptable. This package was pretty small, so I'm not overly shocked that it got on the wrong truck and went for a drive.

I ordered some RAM from Amazon before the local warehouse/delivery center existed, and they shipped it USPS. There was a god damn FOOTPRINT on the mailer that had my RAM in it. Though, to the RAM's credit, it works just fine...

Well, the (probably counterfeit) knife arrived, no worse for the wear. Thankfully, I didn't have to involve the seller. Now I can take it apart and use some of it's parts on another knife. 😛

Hey, I don't actively avoid UPS anymore. I'm just glad I got it...

After disassembling it, and stealing parts from it, it looks like a legit knife. Huh.
