Good first oc?

So I recently tried to do my first oc on my amd athlon x4 645 3.1ghz stock. I got it up to 3.6 by increasing the fsb, is that good? I will be at my dads house tm so i won't be able to find any more info about the oc until then. I am using NZXT t40 cooler and no from intakes on my case (planning on getting fans) also my mobo is a gigabbyte 970a-d3p.

EDIT: I was getting around 53c when doing cinebench test thingy.

Don't increase the BCLK (which you did). Try pushing the multipliers instead.

are the multipliers unlocked on my cpu?

It's locked. I guess you will have to go by FSB.

Do you think i will be able to go higher though? because my cpu is a major bottle neck for when I am playing planetside 2

Maybe. Remember, nothing is impossible except for slamming a rotating door.

Try pushing the BCLK higher and give it a little more voltage if it becomes unstable.

i was able to get it to 3.8 when i first tried the oc but i ended up blue screening after about 5 minutes of testing. thx for the advice ill make sure to try it out tm

I give good advice for a guy whose only overclock was on a Pentium MMX 233MHz, got it to 262MHz via BCLK.

 

What voltage is the processor currently running at?

cheap ass 4gb dell oem, pulled it out of an old system to finish my build
