Budget (including currency): between 200 and 400 euros

Country: Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: It will be mostly used for programming in my computing science (pre-)masters

Other details I have not yet decided on other parts. Watching the yt video of linustechtips on building a pc rn. This is my first time building a pc so all help is welcome! I am thinking about getting a ATX sized case.

Nope, just the CPU. Also, I do have the incentive that AMD CPU's are more fitting for my situation, but my incentive might be wrong here....

Usually we buy the bundle, since they all go together.  Limiting budget for each item is counter productive.  Maybe we find a cheaper mobo, and we can splurge more on CPU....

Not sure why anyone hasn't asked this question but how can we recommend a cpu without knowing your motherboard and RAM?

When I look up the 7700x on newegg it does not say that linux is supported on this CPU. Is this true? Since Linux is my prefered operating system atm.

Linux runs on both Intel and AMD.  They're just CPU's, not proprietary.
