Here is my current situation:

TLDR: I want to use my computer in multiple houses and am looking for a docking station to make switching locations easier. Along with any other advice on achieving this.

Full story: I am splitting my time pretty equally between my house and my boyfriend’s house currently. I want to start transporting my system back and forth between houses so that I can play when I am there.

I already have a pc build with a 10700K and 3060 Ti. I am going to transfer this build to a new case that is smaller with a handle so that transport is easier.

What I am looking for is the most simple way to complete my setup, so that I don’t have to unplug and plug everything back in each time. I would pay to have identical setups between houses, the only thing that would transport is my computer.

Would a docking station help to accomplish this? I could connect my computer to the docking station with a single cable that already has my monitor and peripherals hooked up at each of the houses.

Thoughts on this? Any advice on which docking station to get?

Thanks in advance,

Gabriel

laptop?

i mean i dont think there a dock for a pc other then thows mini pcs might have a dock.

wireless keyboard and mouse would mean not needing to plug in thows atlest and have 2 sets

posably you can megiver and hdmi wireless option but most lieky be coslty or jankey

wireless Ethernet and audio.

but i mean how much would it cost to just build another pc vs swapping case + other stuff?

so i guess it be the power plug and say an hdmi or dp cable i guess🤷‍♂️

how many monitors are you hoping to hook up? because honestly if it's only 1-2 monitors, i'd just go for a nice USB hub for your peripherals, and just plug monitors in directly. you're maybe gonna save two cables out of 3, which i dont see as enough of a hassle to pay for the equipment needed to get a dock working on a desktop.
