Just a quick 'survey'

MrMuffinTop

I just would like to do a quick survey type of thing asking what is your favorite GPU and CPU company is and why. I like whatever is best for the particular price range that I have at the moment.

Hold on a second. You want to do a survey meaning you want to know specific company names then your own response is 'whatever'?

AMD for GPU because consistency > potential imo and AMD's consistency approach is > Nvidia's potential take on GPUs. This is ignoring features. 3D and GSync are null in void to me because 3D is a gimmick and GSync costs a noticeable amount of money.

Shadowplay is good, but I don't record gameplay or stream it, so I don't care about it.

I'd use Eyefinity before I'd use 3D or GSync.

Intel for CPU because stronger single threaded performance when most games are still single threaded and it will take a while before games can be designed to use multiple cores correctly enough to make AMD worth it over Intel.

as far as cpu manufacturers go, i think they both have their fair merits.  i love that intel runs cooler, but i have no need for hyperthreading and i think they're too expensive, so i always buy amd.

i used to love radeon cards(my hd7770 will always hold a place in my heart) but i tend to buy nvidia now

mostly i buy what i can afford though

LOOOOOL +1

Intel because they own in single threaded performance, they run alot cooler, and plus i know nothing about AMD cpu's so yea

Nvidia because of their solutions, and just how simple it is. i dont know how to explain it but i tend to go for nvidia for some unknown reason :P

Intel...Just kinda like them and haven't really used AMD CPUs too much...

GPU..Nvidia, because of stuff like Shadow play, I know more about them and ASUS is my favorite brand that produces them.

LOOOOOL +1

Nvidia because of their solutions, and just how simple it is. i dont know how to explain it but i tend to go for nvidia for some unknown reas

I think 100% the same way...(No I mean like completely the same way :o )

Intel/Nvidia, Intel has the better CPU's at present and is till pushing out even better CPU's by the day over AMD. Nvidia because it works much better with Linux than AMD for real GPU usage not just browsing around.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

I use to be an EVGA fanboy ... no matter the card, had to EVGA for their awesome lifetime warranty. This was a 9600gt OC'd to 8800gt ' esque ' ness.

Intel. 2.2ghz OC'd to 3.6ghz.

For a while I protected green teams honor and stuck with promoting EVGA. After 4xxx series of amd/ati, I started to change my opinion and recommend whatever was best for your money.

Processors, always intel.

GPU : best for your $$$.

CPU: Intel

GPU: It depends on how 'good' AMD is or how 'bad' Nvidia has been recently. AMD is the underdog, but they push for open source technologies that benefit everyone. Nvidia wins in performance and efficiency (also dat sexy titan cooler), but they've also been known to purposefully over inflate GPU prices and create proprietary technologies that artificially cripple their competition. I love my GTX 580, but right now I'm leaning in favor of AMD because I'm still a bit pissed over Nvidia's Gameworks and their $700 flagship GPU shenanigans.

I like AMD, it's the best bang for your buck usually. Intel is also good but overpriced, and same with NVIDIA.

Intel for CPUs. AMD are like "lets add more cores and give it a stock clock of 4.7Ghz" which is not how it works. Intel seems more responsible and spends more time carefully crafting their processors.

AMD for GPUs. I've always felt that Nvidia was overpriced and you could get an equivalent AMD card for less. The only case in which Nvidia wins is when the games I play are optimised for their hardware. Which is unfair, but it can't be controlled.

I haven't got a favorite list, just buy what suits my needs, doesn't matter the company I'm buying it from. If it has the power I require at the price I can afford then I'm happy.

Intel for CPUs, I think they're ahead of AMD in technology, waste less power and, therefore, kick out less heat.As for the GPUs, I'm not really sure, half a year ago I'd say nVidia, but I'm happier than I thought I'd be with my R9 280X (it's cheaper than a 760 in my country), I knew it's gonna be good enough, but I was pleasantly surprised, I ended up underclocking it because it exceeds my needs.

Intel and Nvidia mainly because I've had better experiences with driver support (especially with Linux).
