Wifi Cuts out

I use my PC on wifi all the time and never had a problem till I had to do a clean install and redo my drivers. 

Now when ever I open a game my wifi cuts out completely, I can reset the network switch for it to come back for a second(if a games open) or be fine when i close the game. 

I tested it wired and tethered to my phone, that connection is fine but my WIFI disappears as an option. Any suggestions how to fix? and secondary question how good are powerline adapters?
