I'm thinking of building a hackintosh but I'm not sure if I have enough power.

These are the components that I'm thinking of using. Do I have enough power. Or should I go a bit higher to have some space for expansion. Thanks

You sure that this Wifi card will work in osx? and why do you need an expensive cd drive?

You have enough power and storage but Seagate aren't the most relibable drives out there.

Wifi card works, seagate are the best for hackintosh and I thought they where pretty reliable. Cd drive is one that works with it and to install the OS.

Based on what?

There was an official thread here a while a go Seagate was almost at the bottom of the list can't find it atm.

that's interesting, if you find it link it to me please. I could change the windows drive to a WD. What are the good ones from WD? Greens?

There are several cases where mac OS won't boot from WD. With seagate there isn't any problem.

I see you have an CX750m; does it make a lot of noise?

Yes, bit loud fan and coil whine.

Good WD's are the blue's, green's are quiet and energy efficient.

Reading and seeing that there aren't any problems anymore with the WD so will go for some WD greens. I think I will take the CX 650M. Just to be sure.

lmao the reason u cant fine it is because it doesn't exist!! the only threads that have been made are of articles from other sites and there testing methodology is so invalid its not funny!!!

Build looks solid. Just watch out for kernel panics with that amount of memory on install.

Don't think drive brand will matter for any reason, I did my AMD build with a WD black. Never had any issues. But be sure to set drives in bios to AHCI, that'll save a little bit of pain, and random panics.
