Hey my brother is going to Scotland from the US to attend college at the university of edenbourogh( not sure how you spell it). I was tasked by the family as the house hold techie to find him a good laptop. He currently plays his games on the Xbox 360 or One. He will not be able to bring them for the issue of space, so he needs something to game on. I thought theis would be a good te to induct him into the PC master race. The laptop he needs had to have the following things; i7, 8 or more Gb of ram, 15 or 17in display, 1080p resolution, dedicated graphics chip, and any other things you think would be useful in college. The budget is 1,500. This is the one I have looked at so far http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-152-589.It does not have to be very thin, but it is also not meant to be used as a lethal bludgeoning weapon either. Lol.

Thanks for the help

(Sorry about any typeO's I'm typing this on me phone.)

Gigabyte P34G v2. It is thin and pretty damn powerful.

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-P-P34Gv2-CF2-14-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00JPCJP7I/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1401763390&sr=1-1

Also, it is not a flashy, "look at me I am so 1337" gaming notebook, but is more restrained and minimalistic.

reminded me of this

You could probably configure a Thinkpad T540p for around those specs at $1500 USD.

I Reccomend getting http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed&model_name=NP8258 or http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed&model_name=NP8298 they are the same, but the first is 15.6" and the second is 17.3". I Reccomend getting the no dead pixel warrenty thing, upgrading to a 870m, upgrading to the 4810 (it's only $35) and getting the arctic silver thermal paste.

Ignore that, this one is basicly he same for less http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed&model_name=NP8268-S upgrade it by getting an ssd and installing it yourself, their ssd prices are crazy. All of those laptop have a fingerprint reader, a nice feature.
