i found a guy that is selling a am5 motherboard with a R7 7700x cpu and ddr5 32 gb ram, i have a lga1700 motherboard with a i7 14700kf and ddr5 32 gb ram, is it a good idea?

Keep your build, the 14700kf is plenty fast and you're probably not going to make up the cost difference in power savings. No reason to spend money on what's a lateral move at best.

Just make sure your BIOS is up to date so you've got the power management patches.

Honestly you're probably fine until AM6 comes out, if not longer.

Not really, 7700X has less cores and is overall slower

Just take care your CPU voltage is in safe range to avoid degradation

Sidegrades are never worth it, even on a "worse" platform. No point in wasting money. Good debate for someone getting in from nothing but not for you.

Like they've said, "the die is cast" at this point. At least for this generation. As long as you're on the most recent bios, you're good. Performance-wise, you are actually not losing any, game or productivity. Also know that, depending on the game and resolution you're playing, the cpu would actually have less and less significance in maximizing game performance. You really just need to make sure that your gpu isn't bottleneck by the cpu and you are good(unless you already have the highest gpu possible).

14700kf  is probably good until the next 2-3 gpu generation. You're fine and you don't need to the whole pc every time, unless you just want to.
