UPDATE 21th April

There is a bug with this driver on the temperature reporting. It stops updating for many apps after a sleep/hibernate and wakeup. Those apps that let you configure a custom fan curve relies on that temperature reading being updated. If it's not updating the custom fan curve won't work. It'll then cause overheating.

JayTwoCents made a video about this.

News is getting around some are seeing performance increases with this driver.

https://www.computerbase.de/news/grafikkarten/nach-update-auf-572-06-werden-geforce-rtx-5000-mit-dem-neuen-treiber-schneller.92243/

https://videocardz.com/newz/geforce-rtx-gpus-gain-up-to-3-8-synthetic-performance-with-latest-572-02-graphics-drivers

On my system I can confirm I'm seeing non-trivial uplifts compared to early drivers.

MSI Ventus 3x OC RTX 5070 Ti stock

7800X3D stock

6000C30 2x32GB (2R)

3DMark Steel Nomad

Single run at stock with current 576.02 driver: 6819
Typical run at stock with launch driver 572.47: 6230
Increase of about 9.5%. Reported average GPU clocks increased from just under 2.5 GHz to just over 2.7 GHz.

What about games?

The old data I have was with driver 572.70, so not the 5070 Ti launch version. All below at 4k.

Monster Hunter Wilds Benchmark - Ultra, DLSS Quality, FG off: 70.7 to 73.8 (+4%)
Black Myth Wukong Benchmark - Very High, DLSS 50%, FG and motion blur off: 70 to 78 (+11%)
Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail v1.1 Benchmark - Max: 89.9 to 98.0 (+9%)

In general, I think the clocks are boosting more now but this is more a feeling than an exact numbers comparison. The latest driver scores are close to the manual OC results I got previously. For BMW I did note the power draw occasionally went over 250W, where it didn't with older driver.

I hope one of the usual channels will do more testing on this to see where it applies, where it doesn't, and maybe have a closer look if there is any difference to image quality.

Isn't there a newer DLSS transformer model in newer drivers too? Replacing the older CNN one. Which one is used if the user doesn't act? The transformer one is meant to look better, at the cost of lower performance compared to CNN.

Edit: Blender 4.3.0. 7339.73 with latest driver, 7121.3 with older, or just over 3% increase.

Installation of the driver is still not seamless.  PC disconnected from all internet. I uninstalled the Nvidia app, booted to safe mode and DDU'd the old drivers (all nvidia/intel/amd).  Restarted back to normal boot.  Installed just the new 576.02 driver and at the normal point the driver causes the screen flash the monitor shuts off and never recovers.  No amount of monitor power cycles or unplugging/replugging the DP cable would bring the image back.  Had to power cycle the pc to get video back.

Installed the Nvidia app after all this and that seemed to go normally with no other issues.  Just did this 30minutes ago so haven't done any other system tests yet.

I've had this issue for like 3 driver upgrades on my RTX 3080 when I was still using it and it was pissing me off so hard. You install drivers, display goes blank and just never wakes up. I was also replugging cable and all that too. I had to hard reset the system.

Anyone with a 3000 or 4000 series GPU tested this?

I've installed it on my 3070 Laptop, but not used it for more than desktop stuff so far. No obvious change from previous version.

Will stay on 566.36 for the time being until we know this works properly for none 5000 series as well

I've been running the latest drivers on my 4060 without any problems so far.

Although I didn't have much problems with the 572 drivers either, except slight stuttering in some games. That seems to be gone now in the latest drivers.

Might have been because I'm playing with V-synch and among the patch notes it mentions that it fixed stuttering with V-synch.

If you have black screen issue before, you'll still get black screen issue.

My 3080 cannot game for quite a while now. Non GPU intensive stuffs has no obvious issue but once gaming or GPU under load, it will get no signal black screen after less than an hour.

I didn't have black screens, but other issues, mostly related to the app and recording, but it also just didn't recognize most of my games... also got some odd driver errors I've never seen before... And even before reading about it I noticed 566.36 (or at least around that) is the last version that's actually stable, not a single error... Either way this makes me think the issues aren't really resolved yet and they're probably focusing on making it stable for the new cards. Also still getting conflicting info regarding some mods that I use on newest drivers. It's really weird what's going on how Nvidia drivers are suddenly so bad, on the other hand the "new" app has never been reliable or bug free, or in any way better than GeForce Experience was... (all they had to do was to remove the account requirement and it would have been perfect lol)

JayTwoCents just made a video pointing out a new issue that showed up in 576.02.

There is a bug in the driver that reports the temperature. It will stop updating with most temperature reading app if you put the pc to hibernate and sleep (I think) mode and then wake it up again. Those apps to make a custom fan curve relies on that temperature reading, and if that stops updating the fan curve won't work.

Those not using a custom fan curve but using Nvidia's default curve (fan starts at 60 degrees I think), and those not putting the pc into hibernate/sleep mode but do a regular shut off their pc are not affected.

Ima be honest all of this sounds like the issues I've noticed right away with this "new app(tm)" nonsense are still present (ie. Exactly that has already been an issue since the first betas) in other words, the app "works" ... Until you do something... Like alt tabbing in the "wrong" moment, use sleep, dare to use Afterburner, etc, etc.

I also already read newer drivers have massive issues with reframework...

I guess I'll just stick to what I have, and hope somebody eventually hacks GeForce Experience so it can be used again (without needing an account) ... 😬

I updated my 4090.  I was already on the one everyone was complaining about though.  It is a new install of windows.  It did blank screen on me when I installed it, rebooted and nothing since in the 2 weeks I used it.

I have actually never installed the Nvidia app, or the earlier Geforce experience. Only the drivers and the Physx software.  🦆

Perhaps many of the issues are because of that app rather than the driver?

That seems likely as most of the issues are related to a function that's been moved to the app (biggest issue seems with "filters" but I don't use them) but basically it's literally everything to do with the app... (indeed)

Well they want to move everything to the app eventually...

But for me, I always installed GFE because of shadowplay... There doesn't really exist a similar software, *especially* the replay feature, but also ease of use.

Yes, there are alternatives, the problem they're all heavier to run, and somehow worse in every way .

Steam recording is good... But doesn't record overlays like MSI Afterburner in some games (which shadowplay did without issues)

GFE actually had a lot of useful features (for different users) and now it's all a buggy mess that makes you wish you had an AMD card... OwO...
