Complicated PC Fans

Go to solution Solved by tkitch,

This is a fan power connector.  Notice the boxy shape, and the "locking" tab on it:

RGB / ARGB Cables are very different:

LED RGB vs A-RGB y D-RGB: diferencias y cómo conectarlos

so to compare them:

Does anyone know how to connect PC case fans that comes with these fan connectors? This is my first build, and all this wiring is really confusing to me. : r/pcmasterrace

you *do not* get to mix and match these things.  Each serves one purpose.  Do not cross wire, or you're likely to fuck something up in your computer.

If you care that much about lighting up the ARGB fans and such?  Buy the RGB to ARGB Converter box that @thrasher_565 mentioned.  For 20$ USD?  It's the cheapest thing you can get, even if you'll be limited by the level of control that RGB supports.

Im planning on buying a new case, the deepcool CH360 Digital from a local store, it comes with 3 FRGB preinstalled  into the case, I’ll also buy the ARGB peerless assassin 120 SE.

The problem is that my motherboard, asus prime h610m-k d4 has only a 12V RGB connector, how will i connect all those fans together, or do I just dont use the RGB completely?

Do you think its worth it to get a 3 to 4 pin cable rather than getting this?

that's for fan power, that's not RGB.

If you plug 3 pin ARGB into RGB you will burn out your ARGB devices.  DO NOT DO THAT.

the deepcool converter, I got a cable from a friend and I'm not sure if this will work, it looks like a 4 pin RGB connector and 3 3-pin ARGB connector

I really dont mind having limited RGB control, I only want it to stay at one color, will the RGB to ARGB converter allow me to do that?

it make the argb act like rgb so you can use your mb to control it. some of the convertors has presets on them. but rgb is prity basic to control.

99% of people that buy argb just run a solid color because they gave up on the addressable part... cant blame them...

I just noticed that my case has an LED button that is connected to a SATA power connector, I’m not sure if the ARGB to RGB is needed or not for it.

Case: Deepcool CH360 Digital MATX
