Hey

Would like to switch from Windows to ArchLinux, just to try it out and see wsup
However im afraid that the stuff on my backup SSD, would get corrupted
Originally i planned to unplug the ssd, install ArchLinux on the main one, and then plug the other SSD back in where i have my stuff saved on
Would anything get corrupted? Txts, Videos, Downloads, whatever thats on it..?

If you're just experimenting, don't install it on your main PC. Try a virtual machine (like VirtualBox), get a cheap SSD to throw into your computer for it (so you can unplug the ones with your data on them), or pick up an older used PC to tinker with.

And back up your important data regardless. 😉

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

You shouldn't really have any issues if you do it that way.

I can’t speak for Arch. But Ubuntu has been able to read and write NTFS for over a decade at this point. So I’d say you would likely be fine. If it was a problem dual boot would not be a thing.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

By the way, your backup SSD won't even be mounted by default if you install linux, so unless you specifically order the system to auto-mount the backup disk on boot the system won't even access it without your direct request first. And when it's mounted then yeah like others said still nothing to worry about.

There is one specific case to keep in mind, read this up: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Using-a-NTFS-disk-with-Linux-and-Windows
