Hello,

Lately, I have noticed that my GPU seems to be limited in terms of performance.  For example, with Microsoft Flight Simulator, even at low settings, with an RTX 3050, at 1080P, it is stuck at 40FPS.  In other games like Halo, the same problem is observed.  Furthermore, Furmark is showing about 65FPS, while in the past it has pulled 70-75FPS.  I should also mention that I attempted to play 1440P a few weeks ago, and really, this was kind of where the issues began.  I did DDU, reinstalled the drivers, but nothing works.  Help!

use something like msi afterburner to monitor temps utilization, and power draw and send screenshots of the results

Yeah, I'd check thermals.
Also, what CPU do you have?

R5 5600G, and for one of my games (X-Plane 12) the issues were fixed through a clean install…. Maybe attempting 1440P messed around with the software.

To be honest, it is probably time for an upgrade. The RTX 3050 was never a strong card to begin with, and certainly not designed for 1440p. The RTX 3060 12GB is the minimum card recommended for 1440p from that time.

Additionally, we have seen a sudden and massive increase in demand from games. Flight Simulator 2024 is actually one of the most demanding games on the market at the moment.

So overall I would say you don't really have the appropriate hardware for what you want to do.

The RTX 5060 and 5060-Ti will be coming out within a couple months I am sure; along with AMDs RX 9060 and 9060-XT. You might wanna give them consideration, but your CPU could potentially hold them back ever so slightly depending on the resolution and frame rate.
