Hey guys.

(I'm new around here and I'm not sure where to post this so move it if needed)

I'm planning on building a new pc soon and I was wondering if you could give me some advise about the parts.

Part list:  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qrQbwP

( the SLI is comming later if i have more money)

So in my opinion its quite good now but I'm not sure about the GPU due to the fact that the MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC is on discount by the webshop i wanna buy it. (and i get free watch_dogs with it too)

So what I'd like to know is what i should buy:

Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB DirectCU II

or the

MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC

EDIT:

use: regular gaming like: watch_dogs, BF3/4, need for speed mostwanted/rivals, farcry.

location: on my desk made out of wood. (i live in the netherlands)

budget: 1250 EUROS -> 1700 dollar

Thanks for reading!

Regards Bart

Both cards are essentially the same, apart from a slightly higher boost clock on the MSI version (40mhz), which won't really give any noticeable performance improvements. If you have an extra $60 per card to add than go for the 4GB version of the GTX770, the added VRAM will be of benefit for WD aswell as future game titles.

I think I'll go with the MSI but I won't get the 4 GB one just becouse i can"t affort it.

but still thanks for your opinion.

I also like to know what you guys think about the whole setup together :).

Bart,

The overall system is really nice, you should get some good use from it over the coming years. There is nothing I can see within your budget that needs improvement, the only thing I can suggest is perhaps a better CPU cooler, other than that the rest is just fine for your needs.

Noctua look hideous I know, but they offer great cooling that's exceptionally quiet. The RAM height restrictions on previous Noctua cooler appears to have been resolved with this latest product, nonetheless still do some reading ok.

Thanks for your help cartdog!

I m gonna choose between those 2 coolers. But I m not planning on doing some extreme overclocking anytime soon i have to learn it first. But thanks a lot.

The only question i got is if there is someone with that MSI card. Because i want to know if it is really loud. But i still think ill buy that one.

Regards

Bart

msi twinfrozr are very quiet op, amongst the quietest that i've tested so far...but i would suggest you get gpu's with at least 3gb or vram specially if you plan to go sli (vram wont add up in sli) 4gb would be even better. watch dogs eats up 3.7gb with ultra texture at 1080p.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR

I managed to find a review of the card that compares the Asus 770DCII with the MSI N770GE, it shows tempretures and noise levels, have a good read of it all ok bud. Hope it helps you out with your decision making.

I've decided to go with msi because its cheaper and i m sure i can handle the temps. So thank you realy much :).

Well if that is true i might have to give up a second monitor then because i dont wanna cheap out on anything else and i can buy a second one after. But then is the question should i go with the msi 770 4gb or the 780 3gb if i can squeeze that out of my budget?

If you intend on getting only a single GTX780 3GB card, than you are better off staying with the 2 x GTX770 4GB cards you intend to get. The extra 1GB of VRAM on the GTX770's will suit you well, aswell as the 2 GTX770's giving you equal or slightly more performance over a single GTX780 3G.

well then I'll buy one monitor less and get the 4gb version of the msi gtx 770. thanks cartdog :).

EDIT: I just saw that the EVGA edition of the 770 (4gb)(superclocked edition) is not that much more expensive should i go for that one?

I wouldn't buy two cards. Just buy one Powercolor R9 290 Turboduo and be happy. Also I would buy a  xeon 1230v3 or i5 4570 instead of the fx 8350. It's worth it.

If you live in NL i would buy the pc at http://www.hardwareversand.de/nl/. If you add the parts via geizhals.de you can save up to 200€.

Here is a video how it works:

and here is my recommendation: http://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-431260

OK. If you want to pay more for less performance and higher energy costs your build is perfect.

PS: Even the i3-4130 for 93€ is in most games better than the fx8350.

well if you can prove that be my guest. but there have to be some real big differences for me to get an 50 EUR more expensive CPU
