Hi guys,

I've recently bought a 4k 144hz TV to use in a room separate to my gaming PC. I want to stream games from my PC connected through ethernet to my M2 Mac which will be connected to Ethernet and my TV.

Is there any networking setup I need to do to allow my PC and my Mac to communicate via ethernet.

Many thanks in advance

I know there is Steam Link, which can stream games, I have tested it and know at least on My Intel MacBook Pro it did stream from my PC. It worked ish, though my MacBook Pro was on WIFi so your experience should be better than mine. All I had to do is use steam so. Now other gaming clients I couldn't tell you. My policy is if the game is not on steam I dont need to play it.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Hey, all thanks for the resources. I will have a look at all of those but for now I have set up Steam Remote Play over my gigabit networking, and it is running great with 4K @144hz, running streaming at about 120MBps. I'm getting around 15ms of display latency, and my room is close enough to my pc that the 2.4ghz wifi dongle for my controller still works plugged into the pc.

I have just bought a 2.5Gbe network switch seeing that both my pc and my mac ethernet dongle are 2.5GBe and have confirmed a direct connection between them allows the Steam Remote Play speed to exceed the Gigabit limit, so will update with how that goes.
