I'm looking to build an extreme gaming and light workstation PC that I will be able to use for a good, long while without the need of upgrading any components. Currently, this is what I have picked out:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($334.98 @ B&H)

CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220 55.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($108.23 @ NCIX US)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming GT ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($229.99 @ Mwave)

Memory: G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($185.10 @ Newegg)

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($260.99 @ B&H)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($90.91 @ Best Buy)

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 295X2 8GB Video Card ($1631.31 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: SeaSonic X Series 1050W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($201.88 @ Newegg)

Monitor: LG 34UM95 34.0" Monitor ($1198.32 @ Newegg)

Total: $4241.71

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Color Scheme: Red, Black, and Grey

CPU: I am planning to upgrade this to the 4790k when it releases (hopefully soon).

Motherboard: I'm unsure about this moba. It may be overkill so if there are better and/or cheaper options, I'll happily change to that.

CPU Cooler: I may upgrade the current cooler to a Swiftech H220X.

I would love any opinion/advice you can offer and I really need help picking out a case that matches the color scheme.

I would go with an RM1000 instead, and I'm pretty sure it would just be cheaper to get two aftermarket 290X's, and you'd get almost the same performance.

Go with a Corsair or Seasonic 1000W+ 80+Gold or platinum PSU, EVGA does make good PSUs, but for and extreme Build with a 295x2, Corsair, Cooler master or Seasonic

I prefer a single card as opposed to SLI/Crossfire. I'll look into RM1000 psu.

Really, I only chose the EVGA psu because of the color scheme but I would prefer something entirely reliable.

EDIT: I changed the psu.

Oh, I see. My apologies, I've never used a dual GPU card but I have used SLI/Crossfire. Well, is the 295x2 more stable than using two 290x's?

No. They're pretty much the exact same. A 295x2 is basically 2 290x's squished onto one massive PCB.

No problem. Everybody makes mistakes from time to time. Also not really since you can get some pretty decent aircooled R9 290x's . Also I saw that you  forgot the case. :P

I came up with

Alright, then I may as well save money and just go with 290x's crossfire. Thanks for the clarification.

EDIT: Izaya Orihara, yeah, I didn't know what case to go with. At least, I have three options now ^^
