People hate losing money.  Its like when people sell 6 year old gaming machines for new price.

Its crazy how people think.

I am realistic and I will sell my own RTX 4080 for around 700-750 pounds. About half of what a 5080 will cost here in Norway

I am happy to move it quick and take a bigger loss. I hate dealing with 47 different people over 4 months time.

My time is more valuable than a few extra bucks.

They might ask those prices, but that doesnt mean they are getting those prices. At the end of the day its going to be what ever the market is willing the pay.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Asking price and actual market price are as different as MSRP and retail price are. For used markets, don't look at one platform or just your local are, look at wider range to establish where range is. If you aren't in hurry, follow prices and listings. Which are there after 1-2 weeks and which are gone. If you have local classifieds forum where threads get locked instead of removing, that's also good as you can see the highest bid before lock/sale.

General rule is that 1 year of usage takes off 30% of the retail price. Having warranty (here warranty is given to product, not original customer so it transfers with ownership) raises pricing €50-100. And you can always make offer.

E: Looking at our markets, I notice following:

  • Used asking price is €1000-1200
  • Selling retail priced €1300 after one year general asking price should be €900 + €100 for warranty (2-3 years from purchase date), meaning the current range is about what expected.
  • Our retail tax is higher than in US and paid in retail price so both retail and used prices are higher from start.
