280 and 770 are equal but the boost with the 280x is better

I'd take the Nvidia card because it has better features.

That's very subjective. Most of the features on nvidia cards aren't implemented in games properly because they are proprietary. This means developers have to make their game compatible with AMD too, ultimately not using things like PhysX to their full ability. The only features that work well are shadow play and streaming to shield devices.

Thats a shame. :( But I think the 280x will be the one for me cause 3gb vram is better for future games.

other games are fine

r9 280x. It is cheaper currently (in the US) and can be overclocked to outperform the GTX 770 in pretty much any game. It also has 3gb of vram, which will outperform the GTX 770's 2gb at 1440p.

Thing is I dont need more than 1080p, and as far as I know 2gb+ VRAM only makes sense above that. The price difference is around 15-20$ so its not a mayor problem.

Well then I may lean towards the GTX 770. Nvidia seems to always be a bit quicker on releasing new drivers for games, and they have Shadowplay, and integrated streaming with Twitch. The GeForce Experience is really underrated as well for quickly optimizing a game if you don't want to worry about tweaking settings.

I should be studying.
