I'm building a PC for the first time, and for my GPU I've decided to go with msi ventus 4070 2x OC. I've looked this GPU up and people are saying it's one of the worst 4070 versions out there rn. Is this true, or should I stick with it? I also noticed with this GPU on NewEgg that there's a version that has "E1" in the name, and one that doesn't. Could someone also explain the difference between the two? I've been so confused about it. My budget is $1500 (if it goes like $10-20 over it's not a big deal tho). Thanks in advance 馃檪

From what I find is that the E1 is running GDDR6 memory and the non E1 is running GDDR6X memory.

In regards to what card is best, they should perform so equal to one another that it shouldn't matter for 1080p and 1440p gaming.

Ventus is the budget model for MSI but it is by no means a bad card.

You are not paying for fancy RBG's or crazy gamer looks.

Its a functional GPU that plays video games.

The 4070 is a 200w GPU and is easily cooled by a dual fan cooler 馃檪

Better off waiting for the 5070 otherwise used 3080ti are 400$ and offer performance equivalent to the 4070 super

Are you in the us? Cause it looks pretty bad for the cash you are spending and you can do much better than that

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/srNp3w

9700x + 5070ti + 32gb 6000c30

Microcenter has a聽9700x聽bundle for the cpu and board, reselling the rams in exchange for 6000c30 is optional but highly reccomended

Also a couple major flaws fixed (psu ram) with an upgraded ssd and while the aio looks uneccesary buying fans or a case with 3/4 fans costs the same 20$ as the jump from the peerless assassin/phantom spirit to the aio

And windows can be bought later, dont nerf your hardware just to buy windows, and you can also buy oem cheapkeys at sub 20$ as a compromise

Even if you dont go for this build there are a few things that are simply better and dont have any arguments against, firstly the psu thats cheaper with a 10 year warranty without fan noise issues like the rme (look up rme fan noise if you want proof), secondly 6000c30 ram which is 80$ and outright faster, and thirdly the dram gen3 that is not only faster but also dram and tlc so itll last much longer than that slow overpriced qlc p3
