I have been wondering about it lately, Manjaro might start collecting data.

NOT A DIRECT ANSWER!!!

If you're unsure about Manjaro, do what I did and just install Arch? There are two ways of doing it.

You can either turn Manjaro into Arch by changing repositories or by just installing Arch.

I'm away from home, but there are instructions online that give detailed instructions on how to do the former

I've tried a few other BSD's in the past, but I had issues with hardware compatibility, most, if not all, have probably been fixed but I just prefer sticking with Linux.

GhostBSD is basically FreeBSD with a preconfigured desktop, similar to MidnightBSD. I, personally, would rather recommend to start with "the real" FreeBSD, as it's much easier to get a FreeBSD desktop running than to make GhostBSD behave exactly the way you want, in my opinion.

FreeBSD and its descendants import quite a few Linux drivers every now and then. In my experience, all BSDs have much more reliable WiFi than Linux, so that's that.

Write in C.

Well couldn't get it to even boot to live env., followed the instructions, no idea what is up. Bad first impression just like PC-BSD like 20ish years ago.
