I want to learn editing and want a file to work with. As a wan show viewer I thought it would be fun to edit and shorten it to a reasonable length- like a more normal hour long podcast. the main thing i’m wondering about is:

1. how to get full Wan Show files to edit

2. does this already exist

3. and what are the ethics of posting the edited version to youtube- if this is any different than a react video

Just don't redistribute it and you should be fine (don't upload it to YouTube).

As for numbers 3, that would be considered piracy by most people, which methods can't be discussed on this forum.

It's not an ethic question.

It's a copyright question.

Just because you're cutting it up to shorten it, doesn't give you the permission to upload it. Shortening the original content is not protected under fair use. It's not transformative. The primary content remains the WANshow, even if it is shorter.

Unless you want to get a copyright strike on your channel, don't do this.

If you want to practice editing; film yourself mowing the lawn or baking a cake or some other mundane task that you'd be doing anyway. Then try to edit that footage in to an interesting video. You'll learn more than you would editing somebody else's podcast and if the editing thing doesn't work out you'll at least have a nicely mowed lawn or a cake to eat.
