So my parents told me I can't spend $1000 on a PC. Kind of sucks but what can I do. Anyways, I wanted to buy some headphones since im starting to notice the major flaws my of cheap $20 headphones I usually use. My cousin has a pair of Shure SE215 and I used them and the sound was JAWDROPPING. I heard parts of music I never knew were there. The bass of all of Approaching Nirvanas and Deadmau5 songs was awesome(can't find words to describe it.) Anyways I wanted to buy a pair of them but my parents said they would tell my today if I could buy them. I'm pretty sure they will say yes since its my hard earned money and I haven't bought anything in months(not even a video game.)

But then I saw the California Headphone Company Silverados for 75% off. Do any of you guys have experience with these headphones? I saw a review for them a while back but the search button is acting a bit funky for me. If you do have experience with them, would you reccomend them? My mom thinks IEMs will cause major damage to my ears so she prefers over the head headphones.

IEM's won't cause any more damage than over ear headphones. Unless you blast them at 100db for hours, but then all headphones would wreck your ears.

Try to find a pair that you think it looks good, with good sound quality (the best usually is 7.1 surround), and comfort. I have a Turtlebeach Pla. They cost 40€ and I still haven't found any flaws except they're a bit small. Sometimes my friend's headset (Razer Kraken 7.1) in Skype calls goes completely "Transformer mode". They're really expensive. With this I want to say that not all expensive headsets are the best. Go for what you like and think best.

I told my mom that, but she doesn't believe me. I guess she is scared that I will damage my ear while putting them in. Her worries are valid, since I'm not very careful when putting headphones on :P

Edit: Thanks for the link. Looks like I know what I'm buying :D

The Beyerdynamic DT770 is way better than any Razer or Turtlebeach shit. 7.1 surround doesn't do anything to sound quality, it's only supposed to make the soundstage bigger(even though I don't really see a difference).

7.1 surround is not very good, except when its virtual surround, if they have 3 different drivers on each ear it really reduces the performance.

If the price shoots back up on the Silverados before you're ready to buy, let us know and we can recommend some other good stuff, but for $50 they're hard to beat.

$1000? My PC system doesn't pass the $500 mark, including the 17" LG LED, but not counting the headphone though. 215 is a good IEM, although I prefer the Yamaha 100SL just a tad more. Physically, 215 looks more robust though.

If mom's context was damage from over loudness, then it would be the same anywhere and everywhere. Whether you're using IEMs, headphones, speakers, or even rock concerts and airport runways, all of them have the potential to damage your ears from over loudness. Like the above said, when your ears are exposed to 100+dB sounds constantly, no matter what the source is, then it's medically hazardous.

Don't mean to patronize or anything, but have you actually tried comparing to good stereo headphones from audio companies?

Get a few of the Silverado, stock it in closet until price return to normal, sell for normal price, profit.... :P

BTW, finally got a reply from the CHC. I asked if they could make an exception in my case, to ship overseas. Turned out plain and simple, no exception.... :(

Does that mean you're getting one... or not? (I are confuse by the sad face)

I highly recommend the CHC Silverados. I bought mine about a week back and it is probably the best $50 I have ever spent. The Silverados sound great, look nice, and have a detachable cable which in my opinion is a huge plus. In my opinion for $50 nothing beats them.

Just a question, do you know how much one day shipping cost for headphones on Amazon? If its just a couple dollars I'll get it.

Ask around and see if maybe someone can buy them for you then ship them to you. At your cost of course but hey I'm sure it would still be worth it.

I honestly don't know. I thought if they can ship it, they would give a special rate on shipping or something. I've checked around, the price + shipping + custom fees and whatnot renders it around $100+, + a risk of the goods being detained by custom here, if not sent from a legit store/company. It may worth the money, but is it worth the money + risk, I'm still contemplating. On the other side, got a little turned off by the plain and simple 'no', tbh...
