So, my friend needs a (really) cheap gpu and I'm stuck choosing between these two models:

amd 6450 1gb ddr3

nvidia gt 630 1gb ddr3

which one should he choose?

also, if you know any second hand gpu's better than these two, but at about the same price tell me about them and I might make it to change his mind about second hand video cards :D

thanks for your help

His budget is $45

AMD Athlon X4 750k; Gigabyte F2A88XM-DS2; 8Gb Corsair XMS 1600 Mhz; AMD Hd5670 1Gb DDR3; Bequiet E6-600W; W7 Ultimate x64

Well his whole system is pretty old, so anything too much more powerful than that would just be bottlenecked by everything else. I guess a GT 630 would be ok, he would really need a full system overhaul if he wants to do any serious gaming, it should be ok for the old games though.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150659 on mobile in school so can't make a clickable link

Nevermind mobile does it automatically

I don't think that he needs 2 gb of ram for his 1280x1024 monitor :D

even 512mb would probably be enough

In the end he will probably buy the gt630
