Upgrading storage looking for advice

Go to solution Solved by NotSoHealthy,

Thank you all for your help, ended up getting an SN580

So I have a 256GB M.2 SSD for OS and it only has 20GB free (I think i can manage that and keep living with it)

And a 1TB HDD for games and other stuff

Im looking to buy a new 1TB SSD for games and if its an M.2 ill have to put the os there but i dont mind that (I only have 1 M.2 slot and its gen 3), I have a budget of 50-60€

Im looking for advice on if I should buy an M.2 or SATA SSD and what model

What country?
check out kingston's nv2/3's, patriot p300, teamgroup MP, Silicon Power, see if you can find any 1tb from them.
Also what motherboard do you have? just want to check something

Best one is sn580 by a lot ( still mid DRAMless TLC, but workable ), then some weak TLC base DRAMless MP33 / P300, rest is QLC, or have multiple hardware variants with weak components

You have a pcie 2.0 x4 slot there, you can use 5€ pcie x 4 to m.2 adapter to use your old ssd for OS drive ( the sequential speeds will be like 1400MBps. But for os you don’t need sequential that much ).

what is your current  m.2 ssd model?

For games and possibly OS too

MP33 is honestly decent if you're looking for cheapest option, then SN580 is guaranteed fast NVME

Would either of these work? they have no reviews so I'm not sure

The second one doesn't have a bracket so that might not hold

The ssd is light, it’s ok, it will hold.

just make shure you buy the x4 pcie one ( like the one you found )
