I believe Linus might not read the message, so I'd suggest a GPU instead myself.

RTX 4070 Super would be one of the best (at least fastest) options.

Something like - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dy7scf/msi-ventus-2x-oc-geforce-rtx-4070-super-12-gb-video-card-rtx-4070-super-12g-ventus-2x-white-oc

Pax vobiscum

this is a public forum with the ltt name on it so while linus does have an account here for obvious reasons he probably wont respond to stuff like this i mean he has other stuff to do after all (would be funny if he decided to prove me wrong though)

btw did you buy those parts or are they already existing? if you bought them very recently then return cause those are a horrible buy these days

gpu wise you are looking at the 7900gre right now but id just wait for the 9070xt to launch as thats supposedly going to get close to 7900xtx perf whilst likely being around the 500-600$ mark

and judging by how you speak im guessing you are really young? my piece of advice is to double or even triple check your parts and especially consult forums for that and any other questions so you dont end up like me from 5 years ago and buying a garbage lga 775 build for over 100$ (should have cost below half of that at the time, parts werent even any good with a garbage psu and mobo that cant oc for shit) cause when you realize you screwed up your parts choice and got completely ripped off its a really bad feeling and id rather not have others go through that if i can help it

appreciate the thought but the parts arent a good choice and should be returned for something like this instead as the 5600 is likely going to start bottlenecking a higher end gpu

pretty sure the old hardware choice is because your dad asked chatgpt for reccomendations since that hardware is about what youd get in 2021 but oh well its still a thoughtful gift and you should consider yourself lucky to have a caring father

though what are you going to be using it for other than gaming? nvidia gpus just perform worse for the same price but make up for it in software features say if you do productivity stuff like editing videos that usually leverages nvidia gpus or something like that
