So basically I just want to know if the motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-F

Is gonna be able to work with the cpu: Ryzen 9 5900x

 

basically just getting whole new motherboard and new cpu just want to make sure these are compatible.

that hardware is straight outta 2021 and youd be better off with zen4 on a 7900(x) with a b650 which will perform better and not be on a dead platform

 

if you just game the 78/9800x3d will be a much faster chip but if those are too expensive you can settle for a 7600 or 7700

Is there a specific reason you are going with am4 vs am5? 

 

Price can certainly be a factor, use case. The only concern is that if all things are equal you would be better off getting on the newer am5 platform
