Get BF3 without downloading?

Sonefiler
Go to solution Solved by Blueprint,

I think you just purchase it and when it says download just cancel it and it will be in your purchase history/library.

Hi guys,

So right now I don't have access to my PC. All I have is my MacBook Air, and that obviously cannot run BF3, and does not even have the space to download Origin. Can I somehow get BF3 in my origin library without actually downloading the game?

Thanks.

You should be able to do it through the Origin website I think just need an account then go to the free section and click it (not sure if this works or tries to launch Origin)

It'd be nice if it worked this way, but it doesn't =\

You have to download the game from within the Origin client.

If he had access to the origin client, then that is how it would work

He's on osx and can't run the client natively

I just went on their website, signed in and clicked on it to redeem it? And when I was home i checked my desktop and it appeared. I also got an email saying that I had purchased it.

noooo

uh no.

Yes, I've done it, as a matter of fact I just did it with BF3.

To the OP, just install Origin on the PC, buy(for free) the game and then stop the download process, it will stay in your library for you to download it whenever you can.

I can verify this. I did the same thing with Dead space when it was free.

When you claim the game it adds it to your library, once it's there you'll get the confirmation email for the order. No need to start downloading it or anything.
